Welcome to The Sierra Nevada
The place we call home
A small but scenic portion of the west-central border of Nevada lies in the Sierra Nevada, that mighty 400-mile mountain chain found mostly in California. Whereas the western slope of the Sierras rises gently from the Central Valley, the eastern front is sheer and abrupt, making for an imposing prospect from the Great Basin. Lake Tahoe, shared with California, lies in a fault valley between the main spine of the Sierras and a spur, the Carson Range.

Our danes are all named after a river, lake or mountain within the Sierra Nevada. Check them out and read about how they each got their names and meanings.
